Nostromo Incident
In the deep black, a perfect organism hunts its prey.
On its way back to Earth, the commercial towing vehicle Nostromo was diverted by a cryptic signal from a derelict alien spacecraft. Inside this vessel, the crew discovered thousands of egg-like objects. A creature released from one of these eggs attached itself to a crewman's face, rendering him unconscious. The other crew members broke quarantine protocols to return the victim to the Nostromo. After the parasite died and the crewman woke up seemingly unaffected, an organism burst from his chest and grew rapidly into a large lethal creature. The surviving crew attempted to kill it, but the Nostromo was destroyed in this unsuccessful effort, leaving Ellen Ripley as the only survivor in the ship's lifeboat.
