In the year set 200 years after Alien 3, the United Systems Military operates out of the USM Auriga, a vessel dedicated to the surgical extraction and breeding of Xenomorphs. The organization's strategy involves kidnapping humans and delivering them to the ship via mercenaries to serve as hosts for the creatures. Inside the facility, scientists successfully clone Ellen Ripley, designated Ripley 8, combining her DNA with that of a Xenomorph queen to create a hybrid capable of carrying an embryo. This genetic fusion grants the clone enhanced strength, acidic blood, and a psychic link to the hive mind. The USM's operation relies on strict containment, but their arrogance leads to disaster when mature Xenomorphs escape by using acidic blood to burn through enclosures, killing General Perez and most of the crew who failed to evacuate.

In Their Own Story

The collapse of the USM Auriga began when the escaped Xenomorphs killed one of their own to access its acidic blood, melting through their containment units. Dr. Wren revealed that the ship's emergency protocol was set to return to Earth, a move that would unleash the infestation on the planet. Realizing the imminent threat, Ripley 8 allied with mercenaries Elgyn, Johner, Christie, Vriess, Hillard, and Annalee Call, along with scientist Wren and soldier DiStephano, to destroy the ship. During their escape, they discovered a lab containing seven failed Ripley clones; one survivor begged for death, which Ripley 8 granted before incinerating the room. The group navigated flooded corridors and fought through Xenomorphs, leading to Christie's sacrifice and Call's revelation as an Auton. When Wren betrayed them to save himself, he was killed by his own emerging Xenomorph embryo after Purvis attacked him. Ultimately, Ripley 8 escaped with Call, Johner, and Vriess in the Betty, leaving the Auriga to collide with Earth.
