The Queen retains the standard ability to command drones and maintain hive cohesion, but her offspring is unique: a newborn hybrid that recognizes Ripley 8 as its mother. This bond creates a fatal disconnect; unable to bond with her own kind, the hybrid turns on the Queen, killing her and Dr. Gediman, who was partially cocooned nearby. The Queen's presence also facilitates the psychic link Ripley 8 possesses, creating an empathetic connection between the clone and the creatures she was meant to study.

Inside the Xenomorph nest on the USM Auriga, Ripley 8 discovers Dr. Gediman alive but partially cocooned. The Queen, having developed a uterus due to her genetic contamination with Ripley's DNA, gives birth to a newborn hybrid with overtly human traits. The creature, unable to bond with the Queen, instead recognizes Ripley 8 as its mother. In a violent turn, the newborn kills the Xenomorph queen and Dr. Gediman. This distraction allows Ripley 8 to escape the nest. Later, the newborn reaches the escape ship, the Betty, where it attacks Annalee Call and kills DiStephano. Ripley 8 saves Call by distracting the hybrid, then uses her own acidic blood to melt a hole in a window, pushing the creature out into space where decompression eviscerates it.
