In Their Own Story

On the alien planet, after Mitch reveals he is a synthetic and the dropship is overrun by a horde of aliens, Wilks prepares to sacrifice himself to clear the deck. Suddenly, all the attacking aliens are killed. A new entity appears, described as looking like a "giant elephant." The characters remain unaware of its true nature in the moment, but the narrative clarifies it is the same species whose crashed ship was found on LV-426. This being shows no hostility toward Wilks or Billie, ignoring their presence entirely to board its own vessel and leave.
